Missionary bishop, Boniface, founded Germany’s first women's monastery in Germany in 735 A.D. and installed a family member, Lioba, as abbess, who tutored the daughters of the nobility and the Free Francs. 

<p>Rothenburg ob der Tauber is where Germany’s Middle Ages have been preserved up to the present day with huge entrance gates and high walls that lead into the former imperial city.

<p>In 1868, Bavarian King Ludwig The Second had a dream come true in Allgäu, southern Germany:  Castle Neuschwanstein, the realisation of his amazing world of fantasy.
This fairytale castle was in construction for seventeen years and in every way the idyll of ancient German knighthood.
