The major part of the High Tatra National Park is located in Slovakia, a splendid mountain landscape with high, rocky mountains and many lakes, an imposing natural paradise. The wild, romantic landscape is totally natural, including its streams, thus the perfect habitat for both its fauna and flora.

From a distance, timid marmots can be observed in their natural environment. The young are full of energy while their elders keep a keen eye out for would-be predators. Chamois can also be seen on the mountain slopes. In summer, between fifteen and thirty of them live in herds, which disband in winter. The high mountains are their retreat, and when they feel threatened they move up to inaccessible heights.

From the mountain station at Hrebienok, the sight of the Lomnitz peak gives a feeling of bliss that only nature can bring. Mountain plants and valuable endemism from Tertiary times line the pathways.

The Obrovský Vodopád Waterfall appears. Through a crevice, water cascades thunderously alongside the path, a dramatic sight, made wonderful by its natural splendour.

The Bela Stalactite Cave is one of the region’s biggest attractions. Gold diggers knew of this place in the eighteenth century. Nevertheless, the cave remained unexplored until the end of the nineteenth century. This cave system was not formed by underground streams but by snow and icy water, as well as heavy rainfall.

Deep down between the rocks small mountain lakes can be seen again. The Tatra is an impressive natural paradise .the "Crown Of Slovakia"!
