In the Itria Valley of Apulia, one of the three southern Italian Adriatic regions, you find Alerobello, the unique "capital of Trulli". Like bobble hats, the farmhouses, with roof-tiles out of raw field rock, rise from the olive groves and vineyards.

Since 1996, the two districts have been under UNESCO protection. A city that grew out of the poverty and hardship of its inhabitants and the ingenious ideas of a nobleman. But the Trulli from Alberobello are an expression of the rural soul, the lifestyle of those who lived in the heart of the MURGIA hills in their iconic stone huts.
