it is only in the tributaries of the lake that fish are to be found.

<p>Due to the loss of its natural outflows the Great Salt Lake lost its water by evaporation
thus creating its saltiness.  The lake’s four tributaries carried various minerals          
from the surrounding mountains into the lake and its salt content further increased.      

<p>Depending on the water level the salt content in some sections of the lake can reach up to twenty seven per cent and only the Dead Sea contains more salt.
